We design and install all types of egress escape windows for retrofit into existing homes. Cutting below an existing small basement window to install a larger, code-compliant casement window with egress hardware is the most common modification we do. This retrofit is the simplest and least expensive process that often eliminates the need for engineering services.
For more complicated retrofits, we provide all engineering and structural modifications for the installation of any size window in the basement of your home (or elsewhere) to meet local codes for emergency exit. Some cities also require code compliancy for natural light and ventilation, in addition to egress requirements. We can assist you with these calculations and window choices to meet local rules.
